The Amalfi Coast is famous for its stunning views and vibrant coastal towns. But what truly enhances this breathtaking experience are the waterfront restaurants dotted along the shoreline. These eateries not only serve mouthwatering dishes but a welcoming atmosphere for everyone: from couples looking for romance, to families visiting the coast by boat. As you journey through this scenic region, discover some exceptional spots offering delicious meals and genuine hospitality.
1. La Conca del Sogno: A Gastronomic Oasis
Tucked away in the serene cove of Recommone at the northern end of the Amalfi Coast, La Conca del Sogno is truly one of a kind. Reachable primarily by boat, this breathtaking location offers fresh seafood and local dishes surrounded by lush greenery and tranquil ocean sounds, with a DJ often spinning tunes at its adjoining beach club, and a very pretty private beach.
A haven of warm, casual luxury mixed with lighthearted, genuine fun, the restaurant features a lovely terrace boasting panoramic ocean views, making it a perfect stop during your Amalfi Coast boat adventure. On the menu, you’ll find homemade pasta, the freshest seafood and regional specialties that will please any palate.
Attracting the super-yacht crowd and families alike, La Conca del Sogno is famous for its incredible views and atmosphere; in high season, don't miss the boisterous "Sgroppino show" - a delicate house made lemon sorbet served with vodka, prosecco .. and a saxophonist!

2. Da Adolfo: The Quintessential Beach Experience
Just east of Positano, Da Adolfo offers an authentic beach restaurant experience. Known for its rustic charm, this restaurant serves delicious, freshly prepared meals right on the beach. Upon arriving by boat, guests are welcomed by friendly staff as they weave between happy, busy tables with breathtaking coastal views.
With its bustling atmosphere and tables set right on the stones, Da Adolfo is an ideal spot for those seeking great food and a uniquely Amalfi Coast experience. Children can look for colourful sea glass or swim at the pretty beach, while adults enjoy a crisp glass of local wine and the freshest local fish, alongside classic pastas. The relaxed, convivial atmosphere (and occasionally, a few lazy resident cats) makes it a popular choice for families and couples alike, ensuring a memorable stop during your boat tour.
3. Ristorante Lo Scoglio: Elegance with a View
Lo Scoglio da Tommaso is a world-famous restaurant in the seaside village of Marina del Cantone on the Amalfi Coast. Founded in 1958 by the De Simone family, and now managed by the third generation, Lo Scoglio offers the best examples of local cuisine with fresh products from the sea and from the family farm.
Set in a striking location on its own covered pier, Lo Scoglio is renowned for its quality, simplicity and authenticity and enjoys lovely views over the beach and bay.
4. La Tonnarella: A Slice of Paradise
Just a brief boat ride from Amalfi to Conca dei Marini, La Tonnarella offers simple yet delightful dishes that capture the spirit of the Amalfi Coast. With stunning views and friendly service, this waterfront gem is a fantastic stop to recharge during your boat tour.
With an assortment of seafood options and traditional pastas, families and groups will feel right at home here, with a calm beach for the children to enjoy and plenty of large tables. This once-hidden gem is now firmly on the tourist trail though, so it gets quite busy in summer season.
Other notable mentions....
Il Cantuccio: in Marina del Cantone, the fun vibes and "Sweet Caroline" singalongs are quickly making this busy waterfront option a firm tourist favourite. Kids will enjoy the YMCA, but be warned, this place gets absolutely packed and is arguably more child friendly in the quieter earlier sittings. For a raucous adventure, come later.
Quattro Passi in Nerano: Flavours, strong technique and quality ingredients have earned this "temple to Mediterranean cuisine"Â an incredible three Michelin stars. While it is not on the waterfront, but "four steps from the sea" (hence the name Quattro Passi), it has a shuttle service to pick guests up from the pier.
Taverna del Capitano in Marina del Cantone: This one Michelin-starred gourmet restaurant boasts a rooftop setting, where guests dine overlooking the beach with the sound of the waves as a backdrop.
Alici in Conca dei Marini: This fine-dining restaurant is set in the luxurious Borgo Santandrea hotel, and has one Michelin star.
Ristorante Torre Normanna: A little further south, in Maiori, this restaurant is especially notable for its unique setting inside an ancient Norman tower from medieval times (the only one on the Amalfi Coast with a restaurant inside).
